Young Womens Pre Camp
Please join us for:
Young Women’s Pre-Camp!
Date: Saturday, April 18th
Time: 4:30 pm
Place: Athens Stake Building
We will be leaving the ward building promptly at 3:45. This will be a great time to meet your leaders and other Young Women in the Stake before camp. We are going to have a lot of fun, and we will need your participation in some of the planning. Also, classes that will be covered at Pre-Camp will not be covered again at a later time, so it is important to make every effort to attend.
There is a Stake Dance following the Pre-Camp activities for ages 14-18. Girls ages 12-13 have the option of staying until the dance is over. We will have some fun activities for them during the dance, and dinner will be provided. We just need to know how many 12-13 year olds are planning on staying late so we can make sure that we have enough rides for everyone. Please respond to this e-mail if your 12-13 year old plans on staying late.
If you have any questions, please contact Becky Nye

New Beginings
Here are some pictures from New Beginnings. Our theme was the treasure with in and our program went very well! We went over the entire Young Women's program and spotlighted the Young Women Values. We learned all that will be required for the new value Virtue.
On the Piano you can see the gifts we gave to the girls this year were photos of Christ with this years theme of Be Thou and Example. I made these with Transparencies and silver Velum for the background. I wanted to put them in black frames but ran out of time....
The refreshment table was awesome too! Great cupcakes, fruit and Golden punch. It was a beautiful night.

Picnics and Basketball
Sister Jones and the Laurels planned a fun activity to get the youth together and to teach them how to interact with one another. It was a great activity and the kids were paired up by throwing a basket ball through the ring when they made it through they chose a number and the girl who brought the matching number picnic to that number shared her dinner and the boys dessert with him. Some of the kids really enjoyed cooking some really outstanding meals. I think the most fancy dinners were probably Jessica's and Tara's. I think there was even some competition for one of those picnic baskets. The boys brought some tasty desserts. Gabriel brought the most sought after Chocolate mouse with raspberry sauce! MMMMM Gotta get that recipe!
After Dinner the kids tried to learn some fun swing dancing. Brett and sister Jones were practicing. Notice in the background the fun girls making up their own swing dance!! And the boys that had their own version also!! Overall it was a fun activity and clean-up went quickly! Thanks to all who helped out, and to the moms who helped cook!
